Are you an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer with excellent communication skills and a proven track record of delivering a professional service? If so, we have a FTC that we’d like to discuss with you.

 

Please note this role will require 3-4 days onsite in London and is likely to go permanent after the first 12 months fixed term period.

 

  • Audio Visual
    • Lead, manage and monitor AV setup for the IT Team
    • Knowledge of Polycomm, Crestron and the setup
    • Fault find and support diagnostic checking
    • Be the centre of excellence and source of technical knowledge and expertise
    • Lead and recommend technical upgrades, replacements, and enhancements
  • Server/SAN Architecture
    • Manage, support and monitor the server estate, VMs and storage (VMware, Hyper-V, Windows and Linux server support)
    • Ensure server integrity e.g. checking the servers error logs and resolving issues, as well as backup monitoring on servers and client systems
  • Infrastructure knowledge:
    • Networking, network design and configuration, including firewalls, switches, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi,
    • Security – Cloud, network, and data security, including firewalls, protocols, policies, good practice.
    • Manage, monitor and report performance, advise and implement updates, updates and interventions to ensure service delivery through regular monthly reports
    • Manage and maintain the Institute’s physical and virtual network
    • Administration of AD, Active Directory, Exchange and printer services
    • Implementation of cloud-based computing using AzureAD, Exchange 365, Office 365, Windows 365 and virtual servers and desktops
    • Upgrading and patching network appliances (firewalls, switches, VPN)
    • Configuring, deploying and managing HP, NetApp IBM SAN storages
    • Network Audit & Patching
    • Ensure the availability, security and scalability of our IT services platform delivering our services roadmap
    • Developing and managing SharePoint contents for different departments and the Institute’s Intranet
    • Installation, management and troubleshooting of hardware including HP, Dell and Cisco UCS servers, Storage Area Network (SAN), Cisco switches and routers, Cisco and Juniper firewalls
    • Issue resolution and escalation to supply chain and other third parties
  • EUD software and hardware support and knowledge:
    • Mobile Devices for email (iOS, Android, Blackberry)
    • Windows desktop/laptop (Windows 365, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, 10, 11), Mac OSX
    • Applications: McAfee ePO, SCCM, Sophos, JAMF, Windows Bit locker
    • User/Device management tools: Desktop Central, Self Service Plus, ADSelf Service, Active Directory
    • Leading installs and upgrades of office application suite and antivirus

 

  • Management & Leadership
    • Coaching and educating other team members
    • Management of Service Desk ticketing system
    • Horizon scanning for appropriate and relevant new technologies, and future proofing, planning and implementing technology for the
    • Understanding of budgeting process and monthly financial reports
    • Understanding of risk management system and updating process
    • Ability to engage with stakeholders for both ad hoc and on specific issues in terms that they understand
    • Manage technical issues, their resolution and escalation to supply chain and other third parties
    • Responsible for evaluating equipment needs and purchasing hardware and software equipment
    • Providing 2nd and 3rd Line support and managing clients and network infrastructure
    • Escalation point for the 1st Line support team members
