If you are an experienced IT Manager, we have a great contract position we would like to discuss with you.
Please note this role will be within London where you would be expected to be on site at least 3 days a week.
Some of the main duties will include:
- Service Desk Leadership Enlargement and Enhancement: Oversee the Service Desk operation, leading a dedicated team of 2 x IT Service Desk Analysts to deliver high-quality and timely IT support services across the organisation. Promote a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, excellent customer service, advanced troubleshooting, and in-depth knowledge of software, hardware, and network systems.
- Strategic IT Planning: Collaborate with senior management to ensure IT operations align with business objectives. Facilitate the recruitment, training, and retention of a top-performing IT Operations team using strategic resource planning, human capital management, and staff development techniques.
- Robust Project Management and ITIL Processes: Oversee the execution of robust operational plans aligned with ITIL-based processes. Scope project requirements, design, and implement technical solutions while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Utilize project management, IT service management, and lean process improvement skills.
- Comprehensive IT Infrastructure Management: Administer and support systems including LANs/WANs, Wi-Fi, office moves, end-user devices, and office equipment. Oversee the entire IT infrastructure to guarantee optimal performance, leveraging expertise in network administration, hardware and software management, and IT service continuity management.
- Rigorous Security Management: Supervise the security landscape, develop risk management strategies, administer VPN, Firewall, URL filter, Email filter, and other essential security devices. Ensure disaster recovery and data loss recovery processes are up-to-date and effective, drawing on skills in IT security best practices, risk assessment, and disaster recovery planning.
- oEffective Vendor and Contract Management: Maintain strategic relationships with key vendors, manage contractual agreements, and regularly evaluate vendor performance. Utilize skills in vendor management, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation. Vendors encompass all areas of IT Operations, particular focus on cyber security and critical infrastructure is paramount.
- Compliance and Thorough Documentation: Ensure the production and regular update of system and process documentation. Verify company technology complies with all laws, requirements, and regulations. Use knowledge of IT governance, regulatory compliance, and financial management.
- Proactive Technology Adoption and Innovation: Stay abreast of technology trends, facilitate the adoption of emerging technologies, and create and disseminate educational materials. Ensure IT projects align with broader business objectives, leveraging knowledge of technology trends, digital transformation strategies, and organizational change management.
Essential knowledge and skills will need to include:
- Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Azure AD, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Endpoint Manager, Microsoft Defender, Office desktop, and web applications.
- Strong familiarity with networking fundamentals and a track record of managing network devices, preferably within a Fortinet and Ubiquity Network stack environment.
- Extensive expertise in IT infrastructure, systems, and software applications, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi systems, and VPN, Firewall, URL filter, Email filter.
- Comprehensive understanding of ITIL processes, with a specific focus on Service Desk operations.
- Ability to swiftly learn, evaluate, and implement new technologies based on business requirements and constraints.
- Proven experience as an IT Operations Manager or similar role
- Expert knowledge of ITIL frameworks and IT operations best practices
- Proficient in IT project management and lean process improvement
- Strong understanding of network administration and system management
- Experience with IT security practices, risk assessment, and disaster recovery planning
- Solid vendor management and contract negotiation skills
- Familiarity with IT governance, regulatory compliance, and budgeting
- Up-to-date knowledge of technology trends and digital transformation strategies
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
An abiity to lead a team as well as be hands on within the role is essential
